Women’s Golf Apparel

With the attention and participation in ladies golf naturally comes an increased focus on lady golf fashion. SWING by bette & court is a good case study in the growth of the sport. The company was founded in 1991 (the same year Tuttle Golf Collection was founded) by Maria Erickson, as bette & court golf collection. bette & court – derived from Maria’s maiden name, Betancourt – started as a premier manufacturer of women’s golf apparel and resort wear. SWING, an acronym for Sporting Women’s Innovative Gear, launched in 2004 as the performance collection for bette & court.

In 2008, Fantasi International, owner of both brands, bette & court and SWING, consolidated its ladies fashion and performance apparel under one name: SWING by bette & court. According to Maria Erickson, “SWING takes us beyond golf “. Presumably this means into a more fashion forward mode that goes beyond golf. In keeping with that expectation, Tuttle offers SWING’s line of golf-oriented fashion for summer 2009.
A quick review glance at the Abstract Print V-Neck Polo, the Broken Stripe Stretch Shorts and the Tipped Stretch Polo provide visual proof of Erickson’s claim.

Other labels aligned with the golf-fashion arena are Sport Haley, Bobby Jones, EP Pro, and Tail. Tuttle Golf Collection offers all.
